Introudction of Downhole Retrievable Packer
The Downhole Retrievable Packer is a sort of mechanical setting packer. Featured with full opening design, the downhole retrievable packer allows unrestricted fluid flow and tool movement through the tubing bore. When the downhole retrievable packer is run and retrieved, a pressure balanced bypass valve is held open, in order to prevent swabbing effect. The circulating valve also allows debris to be washed from the top of the packer while releasing. The bypass valve is held closed by pressure from below and in turn helps prevent upward movement of tubing.
Operation of the Downhole retrievable packer
The Downhole Retrievable Packer is run slightly below the expected setting position to set the packer and then picked up and rotated several turns. If the Retrievable Packer is on the bottom, it required only a half-turn. However, in deep or deviated holes, it need several turns with the rotary may. To maintain position, the right-hand torque must be held until the mechanical slips on the tool are set and can start taking weight . It need to equalize pressure to across the packer to unset it.
When picking up the tubing, the circulating valve remains closed, establishing reverse circulation around the lower end of the downhole retrievable packer. The circulating valve is opened for coming out of the hole when the tubing is lowered, rotated to the right, and picked up.
